*Pictures from Hurricane Katrina*

All of these pictures were taken in Coden and Bayou La Batre.
Many, even those living in Alabama, don't realize the damage
that was done so close to home.

A picture of several boats pushed on land, jumbled together.

All these boats jumbled together gives
a bit of an idea of how powerful the
surge of the hurricane was.

A picture of whats left of a house on Coden Bayou.

This picture is what was left
from a house that once sat
on the "Coden Bayou".

A picture of the church I grew up in.

Only hours after the winds
and rain stopped, this is
how the inside of my childhood
church looked.

A picture of a house that just has the front standing.

All that is left of this house,
is the front!

This is a picture of a large carrier boat carrying a lot of cars, pushed on shore.

If you look really close the boat on the right
side of the picture was carrying cars,
and it was beached by the storm.

This is a picture of the Coden Bayou taken during the storm. This is a picture of the same area, but taken a over a year after the storm.

The pictures above are of the same area. The picture on the left is taken at about 10 AM, the morning of the storm, before the winds fully died down. The picture on the right was taken over a year after the storm. It shows some construction they are trying to do to this part of the Coden Bayou.
