It really takes a creative mind to come up with what many movies have as a plot.
Even movies that retell stories on-screen, such as The Lord of the Rings,
are good since they take an already great story and visually retell it.
In my opinion, movies can't hold a candle to books since they tend to leave stuff out,
but they do a very good job of trying.
And its also kind of nice just to sit back, relax, and watch a movie and not have to worry with reading
