I feel I would not be the person I am today, if I had not grown up in the family I did.
Yes, it is just myself, my sister, my mom, and my dad at home, however my family extends so much farther than that. My Dad has one parent, who we do not see much, and he is an only child. Therefore, there isn't really any family on that side.
On my Mom's side though, my Grandmother has seven children. That brings the Jordan family to 49 members. I have 4 aunts, 6 uncles, 21 first cousins, 9 second cousins, and 5 related by marriage. Having a big family has always meant support.
I have always learned and now know what it truly means to lean on people. Having almost 50 people who are there for you no matter how bad you mess things up in your life, is a comfort you cannot possilbly know until you have experianced it.
I thank God everyday for these crazy and wonderful people He has blessed me with.
