This is the United States best kept secret!!! This is my absolute favorite place to visit in Washington DC! The architecture at the time was state of the art. The mosaics on the ceilings and walls are captivating. This is also the largest library in the world, with more than 130 million items on approximately 530 miles of bookshelves. The part of the library where the books are shelved is not open to the general public, but if will be a frequenter of the library you can obtain a Library of Congress Library card. It is a must see for anyone in the DC area!
