The Grand Canyon lies on the Colorado Plateau in northwestern Arizona. The land consists of steep plateaus and steep-walled canyons formed over time by drainage systems. Forests can be found at higher elevations with desert basins at the lower elevations. The Grand Canyon is one of the most studied geological landscapes in the world. There are many ways to see the Grand Canyon including hiking, river, air, jeep, and mule tours. My trip to the Grand Canyon would include a jeep tour into the Kaibab National Forest where many different species of wildlife native to this area can be seen. This tour includes a hike up to a lookout tower for a spectacular view of the Grand Canyon. I'd also like to see the Grand Canyon by mule. I'd prefer horse, but they use mules to travel the steep and rugged terrain. Travelling by mule will get you to areas not reachable by vehicle.
