What It Takes To Become a Trail Maid
An Azalea

Each girl that is to interview for the Trail Court must meet certain qualifications. Each girl must have a minimum 3.0 unweighted grade point average, must be involved with extra curricular activities and must be active in the community. Each girl must also fill out an application highlighting these events and activities of their high school career and answer various questions about their character. They must interview before a panel of judges selected by their high schools sponsor and the top girls from that school along with an alternate will be sent to the city interview.

The city interviews are conducted by a panel of judges who are brought in from out of town. This measure is to ensure there is no favoritism for any one girl. The girls are judged on their overall GPA, their knowledge of the city of Mobile, their knowledge of current events, their poise and overall interview abilities. The girls with the top 50 scores will make up the Trail Court for the next year.
