The Maldives consists of 1,190 coral islands, forming an archipelago of twenty six major atolls. 202 islands are inhabited, 87 of which are exclusive resort islands. Some of the best dive sites in the world can be found here. And because of a high level of underwater visibility, snorkelers can experience the same pleasures from the surface. I have already decided that when I go to Maldives I will be staying at the W Hotel Maldives. They have huts that sit over the water with large decks. These decks have hammocks that hang directly over the water. I could spend hours on end rocking in the hammock listening to the sound of the water. Maldives for me would be a place for total relaxation and sunbathing.
