The Great Pyramids are located on the Giza Plateau in Egypt. For thousands of years, they have been the most famous man made structures in the world. The largest of the three is the Great Pyramid of Khofu. A steep climb up the Assending Passage takes visitors deep inside this pyramid to the Grand Gallery and King's Chamber. There is still much mystery surrounding how the pyramids were built. The enormity of this great architectural feat is what draws me to the Great Pyramids. I would just stand there in awe at their accomplishments. I know that I would want to go inside the pyramids but I can only imagine how claustrophobic it would be to climb the steep and narrow Assending Passage. But the rewards would be more than worth it.
