Amazon Rainforest, Brazil
A picture of a waterfall

One of the world's greatest natural resources, the Amazon Rainforest produces about 20% of the earth's oxygen. The world's largest water lilly can be found here. This plant's leaves can grow to as large as 6 ft. in diameter. This is one example of the diverse plant life that can be found in the Amazon. The best place to get an Amazon tour is in Manaus. A few of the things you can do there are visit the giant water lillies, fishing, canoeing, take a jungle survival course, and walk the forest paths.

What attracts me to the Amazon Rainforest is the simple beauty of it. I can imagine sitting outside my room at night listening to the frogs croaking and the monkeys howling. I would definitely take a jungle survival course. What better place is there to learn how to build a camp, find food and water, and how to start a fire? Of course I'd have to take a canoe trip. This would offer a different view and would be very an exciting way to see the Rainforest.
