President Abraham Lincoln was the first president to be born outside the thirteen original colonies. He was also the tallest president standing at 6'4". Lincoln was successful in the Civil War fought under his term. He pressed for the passage of the 13th Amendment, which barred slavery from the United States. On April 14, 1865 the president was attending a play and was shot. The next day he died. Abraham Lincoln was another one of our great presidents. |
