The cosby show was one of the first black families on t.v. to have a mother and father that was both working in the professional world. Claire Huxtable was a lawyer and Heathcliff Hextable was a doctor. Their family consumed of 4 girls and 1 boy. They made sure to not spoil their kids but to show them that they have to work for what they want, that's they that the "real" world worked. The Cosby Show has been taken off the air years ago but reruns of the show has been shown on Nick at Nite and a few other stations.
