A spanish Count falls in love with girl named Rosine. He wants to make sure that she loves him, so he disguises himself as a poor college student and attempts to seduce her. Dr. Bartholo, Rosine`s guardian, finds out and he keeps her locked in the house because he intends to marry her himself. The Count runs into an ex-servant of his, Figaro, who is now a Barber and has access to the Doctor`s house. Figaro agrees to help the Count because he is afraid the Count will take revenge on him if he refuses. Figaro arranges a way for the Count and Rosine to meet. In the end, the Count marries Rosine.
