Born February 29, 1792

Rossini played the triangle in his father`s band at age 6. At age 13, he appeared in Paer`s Camilla, which was his only performance as a singer.

Rossini wrote more than 30 operas and was best known for Il Barbiere Di Siviglia (The Barber of Seville).

The first opera written by Rossini was La Cambiale Di Matrimonio, produced at age 18.

The last opera written by Rossinin was Guglielmo Tell (William Tell).
